ROK Continues Deployment Of Soccer Alerts Service Worldwide

The launch of ROK’s Soccer Alerts service with Airtel in Zambia marks the 17th such service now live and generating revenue

ROK Global PLC, the UK-based mobile and web technology, applications and services company, has announced the deployment of its ‘Soccer Alerts’ SMS service with Mobile Operator Airtel in Zambia.

This follows the deployments of the Soccer Alerts subscription service in Malaysia with Mobile Operators Digi, Maxis and Celcom, in Brunei with DSTcom and b-mobile and in Ghana with Tigo - which were announced in September - and are in addition to similar services in operation with Etisalat and Airtel in Nigeria, with Umniah in Jordan, with Zain and STC in Saudi Arabia and Etisalat and Du in U.A.E.

Designed to provide near-live updates, news and scores from all the world’s major soccer leagues to subscribers mobile phones via SMS, ROK’s Soccer Alert service is usually charged by the Operator at between USD $0.50c and $1.00 per week, depending on the market, with ROK receiving a share of revenue earned.
